Open Studio Celebrates 5th Anniversary with Daylong Series of Free Events

The Open Studio (TOS) is celebrating its 5th anniversary with a fun-filled day of FREE activities, live entertainment, classes, and tours, and everyone is invited! All festivities will take place at TOS, 380 Old Englewood Rd, in Englewood, on February 13th.
TOS is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization which offers classes, activities, entertainment, and community events centered around promoting healthy, creative, and environmentally-responsible living. Founded in 2011, The Open Studio, is a vibrant, organic organization which has continued to grow and expand its services in the years since its inception.
TOS has come a long way in its 5 years! The grounds, which were once overrun with invasive species, are now home to community gardens (some hydroponic), a fire pit, an on-site nursery for edible landscape, shade house, and new in 2015 – an outdoor stage.
The preexisting rundown buildings now house small businesses, including a Juice Bar which makes homemade, organic, vegan juices and soups; The Healing Arts Center which houses fully-licensed practitioners in Acupuncture, Massage, and Yoga; a Pottery Studio which offers classes and sells its wares at the adjacent gallery; and a Sound Studio.
This special anniversary celebration will include live entertainment all day long, free hands-on activities, lectures, and tours of the facilities. Activities and classes will include a large range of options, including interactive art projects, such as a “hands-on” clay project, performance painting, and a community painting project; Kiefer Water Making; face painting; and even hula hoop! TOS will also be holding an art raffle and Chinese auction to benefit their newest program, a weekly Emerging Artisans Fair, as well as other backyard events. Drawings will be held at 4:30.
The Open Studio welcomes all to come celebrate this momentous event. Please join us on February 13th at The Open Studio, 380 Old Englewood Rd, Englewood, from 10:00 – 4:30, with an optional community potluck following at 5:00 p.m.
