Englewood Rotarians Shine at Changeover and Awards Conference

Englewood Rotarians were well represented at the Rotary District 6960 annual changeover and awards conference at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs on June 23rd. Alfred Current (The Rotary Club of Englewood) has taken on the high honor of District Governor 2023/2024 of Rotary International District 6960. Dennis Guzik (Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary) will be the District 6960 Area 7 Governor to Governor Alfred Current. Two Rotarians received President’s Awards from the Governor for Distinction: Thomas Hinck (The Rotary Club of Englewood Sunset) and David Wampler (Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary). Emerson King (The Rotary Club of Englewood Sunset) won the Governor’s Award for Sergeant-of-Arms for the year. Karen Current (The Rotary Club of Englewood) was awarded Distribution Coordinator for coordinating the relief efforts after Hurricane Ian. Jim Harrison (Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary) was also nominated for that honor.
