New License Plate Features K9s
K9s United, a Florida-based nonprofit, is dedicated to providing essential equipment for canine crime fighters across the nation and is encouraging Florida drivers and dog lovers to pre-register for their own K9s United speciality license plate to support the cause. Three thousand license plates must pre-sell before they can go into production, and while this dog-loving nonprofit is more than halfway to its goal, more help is needed. Florida drivers can pre-register online at K9sUnited.org for $34, and $25 from each license plate sold will help K9s United provide essential paws-on training workshops, resources, equipment and advocacy to law enforcement K-9s and their handlers, and EMS professionals.

 DOGS @ WORK

MEET: Lizzy from Lemon Bay Soap Company, an online handmade soap business located here in Englewood, offering soaps, bath bombs, body care, lip balms, CBD products and more. Website: lemonbaysoap.com.

Pedigree and Age: Lizzy is a 9-year-old Kelpie.

Likes: Long walks with Dad, swimming in the pool and her 8 pm treat.

Dislikes: Loud motorcycles, even though her Dad has two Harleys that her Mom & Dad love to ride.

Pet Peeves: Having her nails clipped.

Office Jobs: Since Teresa and David Karaffa work from home, Lizzy doesn’t have to greet as many customers as she did in the shop, but there still are a few customers who stop by the house to pick up their order and Lizzy goes right back to greeting with her warm welcome squeal.

How Did You Acquire Your

 Human?
Mom and Dad rescued me from the Jefferson County Humane Society in Ohio.

Owner’s Remarks: Lizzy has a very gentle, sweet disposition. Once she knows you, you’re a friend for life. If you give her treats, she will love you even more. She brings so much joy to our lives.
