EARS Takes to the Airwaves: Englewood Amateur Radio Society to Demonstrate Ham Radio Operation

The Englewood Amateur Radio Society (EARS) will be operating ham radio stations from the pavilion at Ann and Chuck Dever Park at 6791 San Casa Drive as part of this year’s American Radio Relay League Field Day event, Saturday & Sunday, June 24 & 25. The operators will be demonstrating ham radio’s science, skill and service to the community and the nation. Come visit them between 2 pm and dark on Saturday or from 7 am until 3 pm on Sunday. Operators on hand will explain how you can get a ham license so you too can stay in touch with loved ones during an emergency. They will demonstrate how they can operate ‘off the grid’ and communicate with other ham stations across the country and across the world. For more information, visit the ARRL Field Day website - arrl.org/field-day, or on Facebook - facebook.com/groups/arrlfd/. At the winter field day, members watch Kenneth Blackshaw tuning in with Leonard Trudeau seated beside him. Back row (l-r): Bob McAlister, Bill Dolan, and Michael Reid.
