April 4, 2024 at 12:18 p.m.

After a spectacular winter season with races in all three divisions going down to the final few games, the Englewood Men’s Senior Softball League crowned its 2024 Winter Season champions.

New Faull Inn took first place in the Gold division with a record of 16 wins and five losses. In the Bronze division, the Elders took the crown with a record of 16 wins and five losses. In the Silver division, the results were decided on the last day of play, with Caddy Carts taking the crown for the third straight year with a record of 15 wins and 6 losses. “We had a terrific year, and quite an accomplishment by Caddy Carts”, said Mark Johnson, League Commissioner. “We had a great draft back in January, where teams were able to fill open roster spots, and our Bronze division had the largest number of players since we started it in 2018”. The division champions were celebrated at the league’s annual awards banquet held on March 27th. “We had a great turnout then, too”, said Johnson. Attention now turns to the spring, summer, and fall seasons in anticipation of the winter 2025 season. The league is open to all men, 60 years of age and older, with a wide range of skill sets, from beginners to old college & high school players.
