On March 20th, Englewood Moose Lodge 1933 held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their new parking lot on the corner of West Dearborn Street and New York Avenue. The 68 parking spaces (includes three new handicap spaces) are a welcome addition to the growing lodge which currently has over 11,000 members, making it the second largest lodge in Florida and one of the top three in the country. The Lodge thanked Christine Garrison (Brand Realty & Associates) who represented the property sellers and worked hard to ensure the Moose had the first opportunity to purchase the property, and is a dedicated long-time Moose member. Also thanked was Judy Canero (Lasbury Tracy Realty) who handled the real estate transaction for the Moose. The project took about four years from start to finish. The Moose is a service organization that is known for its generosity to area non-profits, as well as to other Moose-designated charities. The Englewood Moose celebrates its 50th anniversary on April 7th at the lodge located at 55 W. Dearborn Street. Pictured here are front (l-r): Judy Canero and Christine Garrison.
