On Saturday, March 16th, 80+ volunteers showed up at Englewood Beach for the Great American Clean-up. Participants collected trash and a large quantity of cigarette butts. Some of the more unusual trash items picked up were a bed spring, a racket, charging cord and a sock. The event was hosted by Englewood Community Coalition and Keep Charlotte Beautiful. Other participating organizations were the Coastal Wildlife Club, Drug-Free Sarasota and Charlotte Counties, Oxford House and Englewood Lions. There was also a sand sculpture contest with 15 participants creating turtle creations. Thank you volunteers for helping clean up Englewood Beach!
