The Power of a Praying Woman

Each chapter teaches the reader how to pray for a certain aspect of their life. One chapter is about asking for help dealing with temptation. Another is about how to be a forgiving person. In most chapters, the author uses a real-life experience to help the reader visualize the message she's trying to get across. Some chapters have a lot of detail and are very rich, while others leave me in need of more information, but I'm sure that's just my personal take on it. Everyone takes things to heart that speak to them personally. What I found to be excellent may not speak to you. Each chapter closes with a very direct and detailed prayer for your life. In addition, there are scriptures relating to the text in the chapter, as additional support for those who do Bible study. The author clearly conveys her faith to the reader, and if you are Christian, it is a nice book to read and underline and dog-ear the pages for your future.
If you are not religious, but aspire to be, this might seem a little much for you. It's not that it's terribly preachy - in fact it's very down to earth, but you might want to start with something a little simpler. However, if you regularly attend church and desire a closer walk with God, then I have to say this author has something of value for you.
The author is the bestselling author of over 25 other prayer books including The Power of a Praying Parent, The Power of a Praying Wife. The author's website www.StormieOmartian.com offers daily prayers and descriptions of all the author's works. The author and her husband of 32 years have three grown children.
Jill does laundry for a 7 year old who thinks he's too old for toys, a 5 year old gymnast, a 5 year old niece who has joined the family, and a 3 year old computer whiz. She also occasionally irons her husband's suits. In between loads, Jill loves to read.
