"Pioneer Days" Celebrates 60 Years


Englewood Pioneer Days is celebrating 60 years with many great events for your enjoyment, including an Open Car Show on Sunday, September 4 from 3-7pm in the 300 block of West Dearborn. Many awards including a Best of Show Trophy will be presented. Door prizes and goodie bags will be available to all pre-registered participants. Tom’s Traveling Tunes will be presenting his classics from the street scene. On Monday, Labor Day, the 60th Annual Englewood Pioneer Day Parade will start at St. Raphael’s Church on Old Englewood Rd at 9am proceeding down Old Englewood Rd to W. Dearborn to McCall Rd. This is the only Parade in SW Florida that is on Labor Day. This year the Theme is “Englewood Rocks Six Decades” giving float decorators a 60 year window for style. All entrants will be judged in different categories and trophies will be awarded. A Corvette show will be held after the Parade, from approximately 11am-3pm. Many awards will be presented including a Best Of Show Trophy. This will also be held in the 300 Block of West Dearborn, in front of Pioneer Park, which will be holding its Festival of events. There will be food and beverage vendors. A kidz zone, with lots of different activities, contests and live music will be featured.
