Meet Dr. Angela Schupp, Englewood’s Newest Pediatrician

Hey parents! Does your child need a pediatrician? Englewood now has a new pediatrician accepting patients. Meet Angela Schupp, M.D., who, with 27 years of medical experience, brings a wealth of expertise to ensure your child’s optimal health. 

Dr. Schupp was born in
Massachusetts and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. She pursued her medical education at the University of Illinois – Rockford Medical School. Following that, she completed her residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Peoria, earning her board certification in 1996. Her dual specialization in internal medicine and pediatrics equips her to address a wide range of health concerns for children.

But it is the fascinating tapestry of her personal life that has enriched her professional journey. Dr. Schupp’s husband, Rick, who is a pastor, opened doors to a unique life as a physician. From 1997 to 2011, they lived in Jordan. They studied Arabic formally for the first two years. Dr. Schupp started and ran a refugee clinic in a Jordanian church. Her husband began pastoring at the Amman International Church. Dr. Schupp had a practice in Knoxville, TN, when they returned to the States while Rick continued to work with the ministry. In 2017, the family moved to St. Louis, where Rick served as pastor at a church in St. Louis and Dr. Schupp opened a pediatric practice.

Wanting to be closer to Richard’s mother, they moved to this area earlier this year. In June, Dr. Schupp was hired by Premier Pediatrics, who had acquired Englewood Pediatrics when Dr. Ella Guastavino retired in 2022. Englewood Pediatrics and Dr. Schupp continue to serve the community in the medical complex located at 900 S. Pine Street, units 216 & 217. Rick, her husband, has joined her in the office part-time as office manager.

Dr. Schupp is a dedicated primary care pediatrician who can treat your child for a comprehensive array of symptoms and health issues: allergy and asthma management, childhood sickness episodes, immunizations, behavioral health counseling, routine check-ups, ADHD management, and weight management. With a firm belief in preventive medicine, Dr. Schupp also accommodates parents who desire an alternative vaccine schedule. Englewood Pediatrics encourages regular well baby and well child check-ups, providing vital support for newborns, children, and their families.

The office environment is thoughtfully designed to be kid friendly. To foster a sense of ease and comfort, Dr. Schupp chooses to not wear a white doctor’s coat, enabling children to open up more easily during consultations. The practice is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and Wednesday,
9 am to 6 pm. Same day sick child appointments are available, and for added convenience, telehealth appointments are also offered. Rest assured, if after-hours care is needed, you will be referred to a doctor on call. 

In her free time, Dr. Schupp enjoys the beach, hiking, reading, and still has the travel bug. A dog lover, the family has two Labs.
