Lemon Bay High School Athletes of the Month and Sportsmanship Award Winners

On behalf of the Lemon Bay High School Athletic Department, a big congratulations to the LBHS September, 2023 winners of Athlete of the Month, Torey Miccio and Monica Heeg;  and the Sportsmanship Award winner, TaronSanders.

Torey Miccio

 

Torey Miccio is the #1 player on the boys’ golf team, helping lead his team to an undefeated team record of 9-0. Torey recently helped his team with the county championship and earned first team All-County. He is ranked #1 as an individual in the district and has a .223 IWR ranking that places him as 37th in the state.

Monica Heeg

 

Monica Heeg is the number one swimmer on the girls’ swimming team. Monica leads the team in points and versatility. She steps up and puts the team’s needs ahead of her own. Monica is also an outstanding student.

Receiving Honorable Mention for September are Ron Marquette (Jr.), Boys Cross Country; Mackenzie Martin (Soph), Girls Cross Country; Amry Wells (Sr.), Lorenzo Mauceri (Sr.), Joe Scott (Sr.), and Landon Spanninger (Sr.), Football; Savannah Pope (Fr.), Rachel Gillis (Soph), Haley Hall (Sr.), Girls Golf; Lucas Newcomb (Sr.), Wyatt Seckel (Jr.), and Connor Murphy (Sr.), Boys Golf. 

Taron Sanders

 

Taron Sanders, Football.
Earning the Sportsmanship Award for September is Taron Sanders, senior, Football. The school athletic director was approached by a parent of a band member who told the director how much it meant to his child that Taron approached them at McDonalds and thanked him for playing at the football games and how much he appreciated their support. 

Receiving Honorable Mentions for September are Clayton Donahue (Sr.) and Owen Tannehill (Sr.), Football; Makaila Lindsey (Fr.), Girls Golf; Andre Gerber (Jr.), Swimming; and Wiley Paver (Sr.), Cross Country.
