Kindhearted Hospital Staffer Warm Hearts With Handmade Blankets

During American Heart Month, Angela Thomas, Director of Information Technology with HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, wanted to share the love with a few patients who are in the hospital on Valentine’s Day. “I have recently discovered making cozy blankets by hand using chunky yarn. Since we have had a cold snap in our area, I thought it might brighten the day for a few of our patients to receive a blanket as a gift to take home,” said Angela. “I find it a relaxing activity that makes me feel like I’m doing something good for my community. Patients can feel more at home when they are here at the hospital.” Wayne Robbins, a patient at the hospital on Valentine’s Day, shared that he is looking forward to “sharing the blanket with his lovely wife, who is his Valentine.” Angela and her cart with blankets is pictured here.
