ESA Second Annual Lemon Drop Regatta

 

 

The Englewood Sailing Association held their second annual Lemon Drop Regatta on December 9th at their sailing center in Indian Mound Park on Lemon Bay. Thirty-four young sailors, ages 7 to 18, participated in five sailboat divisions: Optimists, Lasers, Picos, Zests, and Quests. The participants represented Englewood Sailing (ESA), Manatee River Pram Fleet (MRPF), and Venice Youth Boating (VYB). It was a perfect day for sailing and there were no capsizes. Ava Crotty of MRPF came in first in her Optimists fleet of 17 boats. Hudson Regan of VYB came in first of the Laser fleet. Conner Fijas of ESA came in first of the Quests fleet and Yanis Bebikh of ESA came in first of the Zests fleet. A hot dog and ice cream luncheon was provided to the participants and their families after the regatta.
