Omy Ordaz

Winning the December, 2023 Lemon Bay High School Athletic Department Sportsmanship Award is Omy Ordaz-Ortiz, senior, on the Girls Soccer team. Omy is one of the hardest working players on the pitch. She came to nearly every off-season conditioning that was held. When she steps on the field, she gives nothing less than her absolute best every single time. She doesn’t know what the word “quit” means. On top of being a hard worker, she is a great teammate. She lifts everyone up, encourages the younger players both on varsity and JV. Omy never has a mean word to say about anyone and always comes to practice with a positive, uplifting attitude. Omy was named a team captain this year because of the way she leads by example. Her coach said, “I wish I had a hundred Omys!” Photo courtesy of Tim Kern.

Receiving Honorable Mention for the December 2023 Sportsmanship Award were Eric Pavlyuk (Jr), Boys Soccer, and Mariah Jones (Jr) Girls Weightlifting.
