Walk to Remember Veterans
The GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club invites you “to walk and remember” during the month of May. This is not an organized walk, but a personal, quiet tribute by you done in your own time, any time during May, to honor and remember all those veterans who have gone before so that Americans may live in peace and freedom. Sign-up sheets will be provided in the activity building library at Broadmoor Park, 646 Rotonda Circle. List the name of the veteran for whom you are walking (your name is optional). On Sunday, May 26, the veterans’ names will be counted, and a memorial garden of American flags will be planted along the driveway to Broadmoor Park for the morning of Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. There will be a brief gathering at 9am on Memorial Day for the reading of the veteran names, a flag salute and prayers will be offered for peace on earth. Weekly Plant Sale
Did you know that Lemon Bay Garden Club holds a plant sale on Fridays at their clubhouse, 480 Yale Street. The sale runs from 8:30 to 10:30am every Friday during the summer. Stop by and add some plants to your landscaping. Learn more about the garden club at lemonbaygardenclub.com.
