Ever wondered about how the Tamiami Trail, which runs from Tampa to Miami, came to be? This month's topic for the community program offered by Lemon Bay Historical Society on Tuesday, March 26 at 7pm will be “The Tamiami Trail”. Dr. Josh Goodman, Manager of the Sarasota County History Center, will present a closer look at the fascinating history of this iconic scenic Florida byway and its impact on the Gulf coast. The public is welcome to attend the program at the Historic Green Street Church, 510 S. Indiana Avenue. Free admission but donations for the upkeep of historic church building are always welcome.
