Hermitage to host Beach Reading

The Hermitage Artist Retreat announces the first beach reading of the season, which will be held Fri, Nov 30 and will feature three writers: Jeff Parker, American novelist and short story writer; Tony Hoagland, award-winning American poet and essayist; and Rodrigo Garcia Lopes, (pictured) Brazilian poet, songwriter, journalist and fiction writer. Says Hermitage Director Bruce Rodgers of the literary trio “Three more amazing artists for the Hermitage to share - the talent and creativity that gets its inspiration from living amongst other artists in our little gulf front campus is sometimes mind boggling. We are always excited to share these artists with our community. Come join us.” The event takes place on Fri, Nov 30. The campus will open to the public beginning at 4pm for tours of the historic buildings; beach reading commences at 5pm; followed by Mother Nature’s spectacular gulf front sunset. The event is free. Visitors are encouraged to bring beach chairs and any refreshments. The Hermitage Artist Retreat is located at 6660 Manasota Key Rd, Ewd. Cancellation due to weather will be posted on the website www.HermitageArtistRetreat.org.
