YMCA helps out local families at Thanksgiving time

Board members for the Englewood YMCA packed 25 Thanksgiving meals for area families in need. The food baskets complete with turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, gravy and cranberry sauce were given to families served by the Y who would not be able to take part in afterschool care, tutoring and youth sports programs without the assistance of YMCA scholarships. Pictured (L-R) are Kale Dailey, Jennifer Witters, Marcia Ziegler, Pat Ryan, Dale Alward, Gary Vasbinder, Dave Orris, Brandon Dignam, and SKY Academy Principal Steve Smith. Sue Atamanchuk, board member and owner of Lock N’ Key Restaurant, and Publix store #00737 on Indiana Ave also donated whole turkeys. Additional board members Kathy Castellano, Keith Farlow, Jim Hinck, Tom Hinck, Emerson King, Sandy King, Larry McLaren, Gary Schneider, Tom Shirley and Dave Wampler contributed to the baskets and an anonymous Y member provided 25 $20 gift certificates to Publix.
