The Charlotte Harbor Grand Prix is the first of nine stops in the 2014 Super Boat International race circuit, which concludes in Key West, FL in November. Teams from around the world compete in classes including Turbine, Extreme and Unlimited along a course of approximately five miles. Some of the boats can reach speeds up to 180 mph. The race course is from mid Stump Pass Beach to Englewood Beach.
The roads going to Manasota Key will not be closed at any time during the weekend. All residents and visitors to the Key will have access at all times.
There will be no public parking available from Saturday morning through Sunday evening at Englewood Beach. Those wishing to visit a beach on Manasota Key will need to go to Blind Pass (Middle) Beach or Manasota Beach.
Parking & Shuttle Service
There will be no parking at the beach or along the public roads near the festival site. Offsite parking lots are available in many locations and air conditioned motor coaches will shuttle visitors to and from the festival site and races. The shuttles will run in a circuit throughout the festival site both days of the event. There are no coolers (except for those with infant formula) allowed on the buses. You may bring one bag and chair per person.
Buy your tickets in advance online at www.chsbgp.com. They will be higher at the gate. Print your tickets and bring them with you to exchange for an armband that will allow you access to the festival grounds and the shuttle buses. Don’t lose your armband.
General Admission - $15 for Saturday and Sunday and includes parking in a shuttle lot and transportation back and forth to Englewood Beach both days. There is no single day admission discount.
VIP Pass - $100 includes Friday catered VIP viewing area for the parade in Punta Gorda. Saturday, VIP lounge with food and beverages, restrooms and stage access. Sunday, covered, close-in, preferred seating for races and preferred seating for awards. Close-in parking and shuttle directly to VIP area also included.
From the Water
Those who wish to view the race from the water can do so from a designated area on the west side of the course. Charter boat rentals are also available by calling Stump Pass Marina at 941-697-2206.
