Venice Musicale taking applications for scholarships

Scholarships for young musicians are being awarded by the Venice Musicale, which gives a free concert on the third Thursday of each month, October- April, at the Venice Public Library.
The scholarships each year are given to promising young musicians. Students who live or go to school in the greater Venice area, which encompasses Osprey on the north and extends southward to the Peace River area including Englewood, are invited to apply for either a college scholarship or, if in grades 7 -11, tuition at a summer music camp.
Guidelines and applications have now gone out to all area schools and can also be found online at www.venicemusicale.org or can be obtained by calling the Scholarship Chair, Leie Carmody, 445•4859. Application deadline is March 16, and Auditions will be held in early April.
Venice Musicale welcomes new members, both as performers and listeners.
