GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club made a $500 donation to the 2024 Englewood Leadership Class to be used towards their legacy project, a monument to honor First Responders that will be erected at the Veterans Memorial Pavilion at the end of West Dearborn Street. The check was presented during the Englewood Chamber of Commerce Fun After Five event on April 10th. Blood Drive-Saving Lives Together
The GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club is sponsoring a OneBlood Drive to be held on Tuesday, April 23, 9am until 3 pm. The OneBlood Bus will be at the marina parking lot across from the Rotonda Golf & Country Club-The Hills Course, 100 Rotonda Circle. Genealogical Society April Events
The Englewood Genealogical Society will have two events on Wednesday, April 24th at the Elsie Quirk Library, 100 W. Dearborn Street. D’Ann Still leads a Family Tree Maker workshop from 10:15am to 12:30pm. D’Ann will outline the features of the Family Tree Maker software, do’s and don’ts, and answer your questions. This workshop is free and is open to the public. ZOOM participation is also available. To register, go to egsfl.org. The April general membership meeting will be held 1:30pm to 4:45pm. Guest speaker will be Ann Staley, live over ZOOM, on “Googling Your Family: Using the Whole Google Website”. After a Google website overview, she will discuss search tips & tricks and then explore the rest of the website (books, images, newspapers, maps, etc.) to show how you can use the site to enhance your genealogy research. ZOOM participation is also available. The meeting is free and open to the public. Register for the meeting and/or ZOOM at egsfl.org.

Burgerfest to Return  October 19
If you are the kind of person who marks the calendar so you don’t miss fun events, then circle Saturday, October 19th for the return of the highly successful Burgerfest by the Rotary Club of Rotonda. Last year’s competition for the best burger in Englewood brought out 16 grillers and the real winners were the event attendees who could try them. LBSR Rotary "Make A Difference Day"

On Saturday, April 13th, the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club held a “Make A Difference Day” at the Historic Green Street Church Museum and the adjoining Lemon Bay Cemetery. Thirty-seven Rotarians and several youngsters of Rotarians were on hand to paint the 100-yard plus wall along SR776, clean up the cemetery and landscape around the Historic Green Street Church Museum. A special thank you to the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store for donating paint.
