Alex Harris

Earning the 2024 February Sportsmanship Award is Alexandria Harris, senior, on the Girls Weightlifting team. Alex is a four-time state qualifier, a consistent leader and encourager for the girls weightlifting team. She concluded her career as a state medalist, placing 5th in traditional and holds several school weight-class records. Alex also took time to support, comfort and encourage all the younger lifters throughout the entire season as well as organizing activities for the team to do at states and out of practice. She does everything in her power to ensure she is there for her teammates; whether it be lending an ear to listen to or a shoulder to cry on. She extends this enlightened behavior to her competition as well. She cheers them on, truly wishing them well, congratulating and consoling whoever needs it. Her friendly demeanor and welcoming attitude have encouraged many new girls to make weightlifting their sport on campus. She is always an excellent ambassador and representative of Lemon Bay High School.
